FARCE DOUBLE
In cooperation with BMW I developed textile visions for the car interior,
which bear up the demands of lightness, high value, sustainability and
functionality to achieve a “light luxury”. “Farce double”, French for double
stuffing, is a project focussed on human perception. If cars are considered
as places where people are spending time increasingly, the automobile
interior needs an inspiring and premium inner life. Therefore I concentrated
on the refinement of materials like wool, silk and horse hair with jacquard
weaving, screen printing and bobbin lacemaking. Soft, filled and
threedimensional surfaces offer the sensual experience of the textiles.
